DO WHATEVER WORKS
These chapters just scratch the surface on stress-reduction techniques. There are as many as there are individuals. What Iâve done is include the main tools that are most effective for me and the people with whom Iâve shared them. I donât use all of them all of the time, but I do use some of them all of the timeâlike meditation and focused breathingâbecause I have found that my daily practice of these two things keeps me in a state of equilibrium at (almost) all times.
But there are countless options out there for you to reduce stress in ways that feel right for you. Once you find the ones that suit you, add them to your arsenal so you always have a stress antidote ready. What you do to relieve stress isnât nearly as important as the fact that youâre doing it.
When I incorporate these stress-busters into my life, I feel terrific. Stress lessens, stress hormones dissipate, and I stop battling genuine physical cravings that make weight loss and control an uphill battle, doomed from the start. Now Iâm ready to tackle the way Iâm eating to optimize my successful weight loss.
In hindsight, if I had to do it all again, I would have dumped the diets. I would have found my favorite stress reducers, quickly worked them into my life in a consistent way, and then and only then would I have revamped the way I was eating. And that doesnât take long! You can enjoy a big reduction in stress in a matter of days using the stress-management tools I have given you. Many people tell me they experience tremendous stress relief from the moment they start practicing even one of these marvelous little tools. Youâll be quickly primed and ready to revamp those eating habits so the weight starts sliding off. Youâre gonna love this. It will be the first time youâve lost weight with a smile on your face.
Itâs obvious to me from my vantage point now that my path would have been much easier had I addressed stress before addressing my weight. Oh, well. At least you can benefit from my mistakes. I cleared a path for you, and now you can follow it.
